Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday issued a stringent directive to Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and Deputy Commissioners to combat the issue of fake or forged documents used in employment applications.
This measure comes amid rising concerns over fraudulent practices.
The government emphasizes that the selection of candidates by recruiting agencies relies on the information and documents provided by applicants, including qualifications, age, and reservation details. These documents are subject to rigorous scrutiny during the verification process before any final appointment is made.
“To address the growing problem, the government has mandated that appointment orders include a condition for initiating criminal proceedings against individuals who submit fake or forged documents. This measure ensures that such candidates are removed from government service without causing financial loss to the government and that legal action is taken against them,” the government circular reads, as per news agency KINS.
“Reports have surfaced of candidates submitting fake documents and fabricated verification reports. In response, the government requires appointees to provide an undertaking affirming that if their documents are found to be fraudulent, their appointment will be canceled and legal action will be initiated”.
“All concerned officials are instructed to promptly commence criminal proceedings against candidates found using fake documents and cancel their appointment orders. Additionally, salaries of appointees will not be processed until confirmation of the authenticity of their qualifications and certificates is received.These new instructions underscore the government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of public employment processes and ensuring accountability,” the circular added.
