‘Cong historically uncomfortable with thriving democracy in J&K’, Says Dr Jitendra

Srinagar : Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for saying that Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were trying to spread hatred in Jammu and Kashmir.
He claimed that Rahul’s remark is a calculated attempt to propagate misinformation for personal gains.
Singh further claimed that the Congress party has historically been uncomfortable with the thriving democracy in Kashmir, instead exploiting terrorism and militancy to remain in power.
The Union minister praised the Prime Minister for restoring peace and normalcy to the region, ensuring the safety and development of J&K’s citizens.
“Rahul Gandhi should be grateful to PM Modi for the peaceful environment that now allows him to move in Srinagar freely that was impossible during Congress rule,” Singh argued.
He called upon people to continue their trust in the leadership of the BJP.
Singh pointed at a sharp increase in voter turnout in recent election, breaking the long-standing pattern of low participation and political alienation in the region.
“The surge was a sure indicator that the public had restored their faith in the democratic process and was in endorsement of BJP reforms,” Singh said in Srinagar.
He slammed the previous models in J&K, which failed to provide real self-government and good governance.
“The BJP leadership has brought a breath of fresh air into Kashmir’s political environment and ensured truer representation,” Singh claimed.
The Minister urged the electorate to continue their support of BJP, which he asserted has been leading the region toward stability and growth.
