Srinagar|Aug,31: Prominent rights activist Irfan Hafiz Lone is poised to join the Congress party. Lone is expected to join the party today and will likely be the NC-Congress alliance’s candidate for the Wagoora-Kreeri constituency.
As part of the seat-sharing arrangement between the National Conference (NC) and Congress, the Congress will field a candidate for the Wagoora-Kreeri seat, which includes areas from the former Sangrama and Pattan segments.
Lone, with his strong record as a member of the District Development Council Baramulla and his positive relationships with workers from various parties, is anticipated to be the Congress candidate for this seat.
