J&K Assembly Polls: PM Modi among 40 BJP star campaigners for Phase-I

Jammu: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday announced the names of star campaigners for the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is among 40 leaders listed as a star campaigner for their candidates’ first phase of campaigning.

The 90-member Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is going to the polls in three phases on September 18 and 25 and October 1.

The counting of votes is scheduled for October 4.

As per the list issued by Arun Singh, National General Secretary, In-charge Headquarter, the star campaigners are PM Narendra Modi, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Lal Khattar, G Krishan Reddy, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Jai Ram Thakur, Dr Jitendra Singh, Yogi Adityanath, Bhajan Lal Sharma, Ram Madhav, Tarun Chugh, Ashish Sood, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Ghulam Ali Khatana, Dr Narinder Singh, Anurag Thakur, Smriti Irani, Gen V K Singh (Retd), Ravinder Raina, Ashok Kaul, Dr Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta, Sunil Sharma, Devendra Singh Rana, Sukhnandan Choudhary, Sham Lal Sharma, Trilok Jamwal (Himachal Pradesh), Arunprabhat Singh, Neelam Langeh, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, Sarabjit Singh Johal, Dhananthr Singh Kotwal, Sangita Bhagat, Haji Javed Zargar, Sofi Yusuf, Mohammad Anwar Khan, and Sanjita Dogra.

Earlier BJP released its first list of candidates for the first phase Jammu and Kashmir elections.

The first list includes 15 candidates and subsequently also declared its candidate from Kokernag seat to give representation to various communities and castes from both the Jammu and Kashmir regions.
