JK polls: After finalising seat-sharing with Congress, NC announces 18 candidates

Srinagar: National Conference late Monday released a list of 18 candidates for the first phase of Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.
The party list came hours after NC and Congress finalised pre-poll seat sharing arrangements for all 90 constituencies.

As per the list approved by party president Farooq Abdullah, NC announced that former Member Parliament, retired Justice Hussnain Masoodi would be the candidate from Pampore Pulwama.

Former lawmaker Mohammad Khalil Bandh will be the candidate from Pulwama, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Mir from Rajpora, Showkat Hussain Ganie from Zainpora, Sheikh Mohammad Rafi from Shopian, Sakina Ittoo from D H Pora, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad – from Devsar Chowdary Zaffer Ahmad from Larnoo, Abdul Majeed Larmi from Anantnag West, Bashir Ahmad Veeri from Bijbehara, Reyaz Ahmad Khan from Anantnag East, Altaf Ahmad Kaloo from Pahalgam, Mehboob Iqbal from Bhaderwah, Khalid Najeeb Soharwardy from Doda, Arjun Singh Raju from Ramban, Sajad Shaheen from Banihal, Sajad Kichloo – from Kishtwar and Pooja Thokur from Pader-Nagsani constituency respectively.

As per the seat-sharing agreement, NC will fight on 51 seats, INC on 32 seats and there will be a friendly contest in five seats. The alliance has left one seat each for CPI(M) and Panthers Party. UNI
