Srinagar: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Thursday appointed Nalin Prabhat as DGP Jammu and Kashmir. He has been asked to take charge from incumbent J&K DGP R R Swain on October 1.
An order issued from the Ministry Of Home Affairs reads “Consequent upon joining the AGMUT Cadre on inter-cadre deputation from Andhra Pradesh Cadre,Nalin Prabhat, IPS (AP,1992) is hereby posted in Jammu & Kashmir as Special Director General (SDG), Jammu & Kashmir Police with immediate effect and till 30.09.2024”. The order further reads “Upon retirement of R.R. Swain, IPS (AGMUT:1991) on 30.09.2024, Nalin Prabhat, IPS (AP:1992) is appointed as DGP, Jammu & Kashmir w.e.f. 01.10.2024 and until further orders.”
