I-Day, 2024 celebrations held across all the Distt Courts of Kashmir

Srinagar : The celebrations for 78th Independence Day were on Thursday held across all the District Court Complexes (DCCs) of Kashmir, during which the respective Principal District and Session Judges (PD&SJs) hoisted the national flag and took salute at the march-past.

At Srinagar, the District Judiciary Srinagar in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Srinagar celebrated 78th Independence Day in a grand and memorable manner at the District Court Complex Moominabad, Srinagar. On the occasion, Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman, DLSA, Srinagar), Jawad Ahmed hoisted the tricolor and took the salute, acknowledging the selfless dedication of these guardians of our nation. In his address, the PD&SJ highlighted the significance of Independence Day and emphasized the judiciary’s unwavering commitment to upholding the Constitution and serving the people. The event was further enriched by a heartwarming cultural program featuring patriotic songs performed by students from Govt. Higher Secondary School, Gund Hassibhat, Govt. Middle School Allochibagh Srinagar and Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Mujgund, Srinagar. The performances resonated with the audience, invoking a sense of national unity and pride. The celebration concluded with a stirring rendition of the national anthem by Sunila Kumari, (JLA) DLSA Srinagar, along with students of Government Higher Secondary School Gund Hassibhat Srinagar. Their performance added a special aura to the event, leaving the audience inspired and filled with a sense of national pride. The event was attended by Ld. Judicial Officers of District Srinagar, Public Prosecutors of District Court Complex Srinagar, Members of the Bar, Officers & Officials from R&B Department, Treasury Department, J&K Bank, as well as officers and ministerial Court staff, Teachers along with students from GHSS Gund Hassibhat, GBHSS Mujgund and GMS Alochibagh, Srinagar, officials, LADC (Legal Aid and Defense Counsel), Panel Lawyers, and Para-Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar.

At Anantnag, the 78th Independence Day celebration function was held at District Court Complex Anantnag during which Principal District & Sessions Judge Anantnag, Jaffar Hussain Beg hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the March Past. On the occasion, Additional Session Judge Anantnag, CJM Anantnag, Sub Judge/Secretary DLSA Anantnag, Special Mobile Magistrate Anantnag, Minsiff/JMIC Anantnag and all employees of Judiciary and DLSA were present. Later, PD&S Judge distributed sweets among the police personnel who participated in the function. Similarly, Independence day celebration functions were also organized at Court Complexes of Aishmuqam, Bijbehara, Shangus, Vailoo and Dooru.

At Baramulla, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm within the premises of the District Court Complex Baramulla, wherein the Chairman District Legal Services Authority/Principal District and Sessions Judge, Pawan Kumar Sharma, hoisted the National Flag and took the salute during the ceremony. On this occasion, the Principal District and Sessions Judge conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the community, extending his best wishes to everyone on this momentous day. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman, DLSA Baramulla, acknowledged the significance of the celebration, emphasizing the importance of national unity and the collective spirit of patriotism that the day embodies. The function was attended by the Ist Additional Session Judge Baramulla, Sub Judge Baramulla Special Mobile Magistrate/Sub Judge (Secretary District Legal Service Authority Baramulla), Judicial Magistrate First Class (Munsif) Baramulla, public prosecutors, Legal Aid Defence Councils, bar members and others.

At Budgam, In a magnificent display of patriotism and unity, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor at the District Court Complex in Budgam. The event was marked by the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal District & Sessions Judge, and Chairman, DLSA, Budgam, Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, who also took the salute of the guards. Principal District & sessions Judge in his address said that the celebration of the day promotes national unity, integrity and solidarity amongst Indians. He further described that August 15th 2024 will be a momentous moment for all Indians worldwide to celebrate their nations Independence, diversity. The celebration was graced by Additional District & Sessions Judge, Budgam, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam, Special Mobile Magistrate, Budgam, Civil Judge Jr. Division, Officers from the Prosecution Department, members of the legal fraternity, including lawyers from the Bar, Officers and ministerial court staff, and officers, staff members of the DLSA, Budgam and para legal volunteers (PLVs). A similar kind of Independence Day functions were also held at the Tehsil levels of District Budgam where in chairpersons of TLC’s hoisted the National flag and also took the salute of the guards.

At Ganderbal, the District Judiciary, Ganderbal in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, celebrated Independence Day with great fervor and enthusiasm. The celebrations took place at the District Court, Ganderbal, and Munsiff Court, Kangan. Ritesh Kumar Dubey, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Ganderbal (Chairman, District Legal Services Authority) Ganderbal, presided over the function and hoisted the National Flag in the premises of the District Court, Ganderbal. He also took the salute at the District Court, Ganderbal. On the occasion, Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ganderbal, Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Ganderbal, Munsiff/JMIC Ganderbal, Trainee, Civil Judge Junior Division, Public Prosecutor, Court of Pr. Sessions Judge Ganderbal, Assistant Public Prosecutors, President District Bar Association Ganderbal and other bar members and lawyers were present. Similarly, at Munsiff Court, Kangan, Easrar-ul-Nabi, Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Kangan, hoisted the National Flag and presided over the celebrations. The Independence Day celebrations were marked by patriotic fervor, with staff and officials of the District Judiciary, District Legal Services Authority and prosecution in attendance.

At Kupwara, the 78th Independence Day celebration function was held at District Court Complex Kupwara during which Principal District & Sessions Judge Kupwara, Shazia Tabasum hoisted the National Flag and took salute. On the occasion, Additional Session Judge Fast-track Court Kupwara, CJM Handwara, Sub Judge/Secretary DLSA Kupwara, Sub Judge Kupwara, and all employees of Judiciary and DLSA were present. Later the PD&S Judge distributed sweets among the police personnel who participated in the function. Similarly, Independence day celebration functions were also organized at Court Complexes of Handwara, Sogam and Tangdar.
At Bandipora, the District Legal Services Authority Bandipora in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Bandipora and in collaboration with District Judiciary Bandipora organized an event on the eve of 78th Independence Day Thursday\ at District Court Complex Bandipora. The event was presided over by Pr. District & Sessions Judge (Chairman District Legal Services Authority) Bandipora, Amit Sharma along with Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bandipora Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, Chief Prosecution Officer, Public Prosecutor, DySP Bandipora and other officials. On the occasion, the programme started with Flag hoisting by Pr. District & Sessions Judge (Chairman District Legal Services Authority) Bandipora and singing of the National Anthem. The event was also attended by Staff Members of DLSA Bandipora, Staff Members of Subordinate Courts, Police Personnel and Para Legal Volunteers Moreover, Munsiff/JMIC (Chairman TLSC) Sumbal hoisted the National Flag at Munsiff Court Sumbal.
