Distt Admin B’la, NHPC Sign Rupees 2.13 Cr MoU for Enhanced Healthcare & Waste Management

Baramulla : In a significant step towards enhancing public health and waste management, the District Administration Baramulla has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NHPC. The agreement entails a financial commitment of Rs 2.13 Crore among which Rs 1.68 crore towards healthcare and Rs 45 lacs for waste management in the district.
The healthcare funding will be utilized to conduct approximately 9 lac anemia tests across the district, significantly bolstering the district’s health services. This initiative aims to address critical health issues, particularly anemia, which is prevalent in the region.
The Rs 45 lacs allocated for waste management will be directed towards improving waste management practices, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for the residents of Baramulla.
During the signing ceremony, DC Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, underscored the transformative potential of the MoU. He said this agreement represents a significant step forward in enhancing our district’s healthcare infrastructure and waste management system by tackling critical health issues and ensuring a cleaner environment.
Moreover, he said that the MoU will play an important role in our efforts to achieve the ‘Anemia Mukt Bharat’ goals while also advancing our initiatives in effective waste management.
Representatives from NHPC present at the ceremony expressed their commitment to further collaborations with the District Administration Baramulla.
They emphasized that this MoU is just the beginning and NHPC is open to more partnerships aimed at fostering development in the region. They highlighted their dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and their willingness to invest in initiatives that benefit the community particularly in healthcare, nutrition and infrastructure improvements.
The NHPC representatives also mentioned plans to explore additional projects that can contribute to the sustainable Development of Baramulla District.
