3 persons held with Heroin in Jammu Under Operation SANJEEVANI

Jammu: Under Operation SANJEEVANI, the J&K Police in Sub Division City East Jammu arrested drug peddlers and seized heroin (Chitta) on 27.07.2024. A police team from Bahu Fort Police Station was conducting routine patrolling and frisking near the JDA office at Bahu Plaza when they noticed a suspicious vehicle with registration number HR62A-6518 coming from Shiv Market towards the Railway Station. The driver attempted to flee but was stopped by the police after a brief effort.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the police found three occupants, identified as Mohsin Aslam Khan, son of Mohd Aslam Khan from Hamama Budgam, Srinagar; Mohd Amin, son of Ghulam Hassan from Sheikhpura Budgam, Srinagar; and Azhar Manzoor Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmed from Nowabazar, Srinagar. During a personal search, heroin (Chitta) was found in their possession.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 167/2024 U/S 8/21/22/25/29/60 of the NDPS Act, and the investigation is ongoing. The police are probing the backward and forward linkages in the narcotics smuggling operation. The local community has praised the timely intervention of the Trikuta Nagar Police, preventing the further distribution of drugs among the youth in Jammu city.
