ADDC Doda discusses Kailash Yatra 2024 arrangements

Doda : Additional District Development Commissioner Doda, Pran Singh, convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for upcoming Kailash Yatra 2024.
The meeting was attended by ADC Sudarshan Kumar, ASP Bhaderwah Vinod Kumar, SHO, Tehsildar, Commanding Officer 4RR, 33 Bn CRPF, concerned officers/ officials, and religious heads, including the president of Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Kailash Sewa Sangh Trust and representatives from several Langer committees.
The ADDC emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability during the yatra. He urged all stakeholders to keep the Langer sites and yatra destinations free from plastic waste.
To ensure this, a coordinated effort between ASP, the Forest Department, BDO, EO MC Bhaderwah, Langer committees, and Sanatan Dharam Sabha Bhaderwah was initiated for the collection and proper disposal of plastic waste before, during, and after the yatra.
Directions were issued during the meeting, including the repair of water supply schemes from Kailash Kund to Hayan, installation of water taps and water tanks at camp sites and tendering process for firewood at various locations.
JPDCL was tasked with repairing and maintaining damaged poles, electric wires and provision of DG sets at Kailash Kund. Infrastructure repairs, including sheds and toilets at Kailash Kund and Hayan, will be carried out by BDA Bhaderwah.
The CMO will provide two stationary medical teams equipped with oxygen cylinders and one mobile medical team to accompany the yatra from the Kellar side. To ensure the safety and security of the yatra participants, ASP Bhaderwah was asked to ensure foolproof security arrangements at Kailash Kund and Hayan.
