Baramulla : Former Law Minister and PDP Senior leader Basharat Bukhari on Saturday sought the intervention of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla over his demand for adequate arrangements during Muharram.
In a statement issued here on Saturday , Bukhari said that Muharram Processions carry a huge religious significance among Muslim Ummah , therefore, the administration need to have a comprehensive strategy in place for providing facilities to the mourners. The PDP leader, meanwhile spoke to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Urging him to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made in Shia dominated areas in Baramulla district particularly in Wagoora-Kreeri Constituency including Hygam, Bulgam, Authora, Watergam and other areas of the district .He requested that besides providing an uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water , the quality medical facilities during the procession must be ensured. He further urged DC that Pandals and solar lights may be installed in and around Imam Bharas to save mourners from the scorching heat during the day and facilitate their easy movement during night hours by installing solar lights . The Former Minister requested the Deputy Commissioner to take stock of the arrangements personally. Basharat Bukhari also offered help and assistance to the district administration in whatever way possible, for providing facilities during Muharram processions.
