Amid hot, humid weather, Met predicts 4 days of wet weather from July 4 in J&K

Srinagar: Amid hot and humid weather conditions, Meteorological Centre Srinagar predicted four days of wet weather from July 4 with the possibility of intermittent light to moderate rainfall over Jammu and Kashmir.
The MeT office said, “there is a possibility of intermittent light to moderate rainfall at most places of Jammu and Kashmir with heavy showers/rainfall at a few places from July 4 to 7”.
It said the inclement weather may cause flash floods, landslides/mudslides, and shooting stones at a few vulnerable places. A few places may experience moderate thunderstorms/lightning during the period.
Till July 3, the MeT office said, there is the possibility of light to moderate rain/thundershower at many places of Jammu division towards late night or early morning and a spell of rain/thundershower at a few places of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district recorded 20 mm rainfall and Chatta in Jammu recorded 31.5mm during the past 24 hours.
Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley experiencing hot and humid weather conditions disrupting normal activities.
Srinagar recorded a maximum of 32.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday and it was 3.1 degrees Celsius above normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir during this period of the season.
The Minimum temperature in Srinagar recorded during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday was 2.5 degrees Celsius above normal of 17.3 degrees Celsius
Jammu recorded a maximum of 36.0 degrees Celsius and it was normal for the winter capital of the Union Territory. Jammu recorded the minimum temperature overnight at 26.3 degrees Celsius and it was 0.3 degrees Celsius above normal.
Pahalgam had a maximum of 29.2 degrees Celsius, Kokernag 27.3 degrees Celsius and Ski resort of Gulmarg 21.6 degrees Celsius recorded on Sunday, the MeT office said.
