Tral : In a bid to foster literary engagement among students, Government Degree College (GDC) Tral on Wednesday organized a captivating session titled “Reading Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations: Issues and Challenges” under its ‘Meet The Author’ series. The event, held in the college auditorium, garnered enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and faculty members alike.
Conducted by the Department of English at GDC Tral, the programme featured Professor Lata Dubey from Banaras Hindu University as the esteemed Chief Guest. Professor Dubey, a distinguished scholar in English literature, delivered an illuminating discourse on various facets associated with Charles Dickens’ seminal work, Great Expectations. Her insightful remarks delved into the thematic intricacies, socio-cultural contexts, and enduring relevance of Dickens’ narrative style, captivating the audience’s attention throughout.
The event was graced by the presence of GDC Tral’s Principal, Professor Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, who highlighted the significance of such literary initiatives for students.
