Ganderbal : Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq on Thursday visited Lar and Tullamulla Ganderbal to take stock of arrangements for the ensuing annual Urs of the Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Sadiq Qalander (RA) and Mela Kheerbhawani being celebrated on 7th and 14th June respectively.
The DDC Chairperson sought details of arrangements that different departments have made for the Urs and the mela. She also interacted with the office bearers of the Dharmarth Trust and Waqf Board management and verified details of arrangements made at the Kheerbhawani and Shah Sadiq Qalander shrines for the annual occasions.
Nuzhat Ishfaq directed the departments concerned for making necessary arrangements for uninterrupted power and drinking water supplies, transport, security, fire tenders, ration, accommodation, medical facilities, macadamization of roads and other related arrangements at the temple and Ziyarat Hazrat Shah Sadiq Qalander (RAH).
At Tullamulla the DDC Chairperson visited around the temple and took stock of arrangements put in place. She directed the officers concerned and representatives of Dharmarth Trust to ensure that the devotees coming to pay obeisance are provided with requisite facilities and foolproof mechanism is put in place to ensure smooth conduct of this Mela.
While interacting with the officers, the DDC Chairperson said, “These spiritual shrines are our treasures and the path of love, humanity and spiritual excellence shown by our great Sufis can lead us to the light of peace, contentment and social harmony which in turn will make our lives filled with all good. We need to propagate the teachings of our Sufi saints to our new generation.”
The Chairperson was accompanied by Tehsildars of Tullamulla and Lar, senior officers from PDD, Rural Development, PHE, Health and Police, besides members of the Wakf Board and Dharmarth Trust.
SSP Ganderbal also sought the co-operation from all the Hoteliers of Sonamarg for providing helping hand and assistance to Tourists and Yatries in case of any eventuality. Furthermore, Sumo-Stand Association also ensured smooth movement of Yatries. Moreover, Pony-Porters were also briefed not to indulge in any unfair means and follow rates fixed by administration during the Amarnath Ji Yatra-24. All the stakeholders were asked to provide safe, clean and cheating free environment to the Tourists and Amarnath Yatries.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks from both the sides and all the stakeholders ensured that they will provide the best possible facilities to the Tourists/Yatries in forthcoming Amarnath Yatra-24
