GPS tracker anklet affixed on two bailed-out militant associates in Sopore: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that in Sopore it has affixed a GPS-enabled anklet on two bailed-out militant associates for better surveillance to track their movements, Stating therein that this step has been taken after obtaining formal orders from the district Court.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the accused identified as Aamar Mehraj Kaboo S/o Mehraj ud Din Kaboon R/o Mahrajpora Sopore and Waseem Manzoor Gazi S/o Manzoor Ahmad Gazi R/o Watergam Rafiabad were arrested in case FIR No. 185/2020 under section 7/25, 27 of IA Act, 16, 18, 20, 23, 38 ULAP Act of Police Station Sopore and FIR No. 161/2019 under section 7/25 IA Act 18, 39 ULAP Act of Police Station Dangiwacha respectively and have been enlarged bail by the district Court.
In the concluding para of ita above quoted statement Police said that these GPS anklets will be used to monitor the movement of the said militant associates and ensure that they don’t violate the bail conditions.
