Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that while cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Gonipora, Kunzer, Monagam, Old Town Baramulla nine vehicles (7 tippers and 2 tractors) were seized alongwith their drivers identified as Waseem Ahmad Shah S/o Ab Salam R/o Batpora Kunzer, Manzoor Ahmad Reshi S/o Ab Ahad, Bashir Ahmad Reshi S/o Gh Rasool, both residents of Pariswani, Showkat Ahmad Para S/o Gh Mohd R/o Kachwa Muqam Chandoosa, Gh Hassan S/o Ab Rahman, Bilal Ahmad Lone S/o Wali Mohd, both residents of Jal-Sheeri, Zubair Ahmad Khan S/o Ab Aziz R/o Drangbal, Azad Ahmad Itoo S/o Gh Mohiuddin R/o Bharampora Watergam & Riyaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Khazir Mohd R/o Ladoora here on Tuesday.
Stating that action was initiated action under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla, SDPO Tangmarg and SDPO Kreeri, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement further said that the accused involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals were arrested and accordingly cases under relevant sections of law were also been registered at Police Station Kunzer, Police Station Baramulla and Police Station Kreeri besides initiating investigations into the case.
