Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has attached the property of a drug peddler worth lacs in Reban Village of Sopore.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party in Sopore attached a storey residential house valued approximately 16 lakhs and 10 marlas land valued approximately 5 lacs located in Reban village of Sopore, under the NDPS Act 1985, adding therein that the said house belongs to a drug peddler namely Mohammad Ashraf Ganie S/o Ghulam Rasool Ganie R/o Reban Sopore.
Stating that the said property was acquired by the accused from the gains of selling of drugs, Police in its statement further said “the inquiry revealed that the said immovable property was raised/ used for Illicit Trafficking by the drug peddler”.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reaffirmed its commitment to combat the drug menace, adding therein that locals of the area have hailed the initiative with regard to the attachment of immoveable property which has been raised/used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler.
