5 absconders held in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested five absconders in district Baramulla who were evading their arrests from three decades.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police Party of Police Station Tangmarg arrested one Nazir Ahmad Mir S/o Wali Mohammad R/o Miskeenbagh Khanyar A/P Ladoo Pampore involved in case FIR No. 03/1988 of Police Station Tangmarg, adding therein that similarly, a Police Party of Police Station Kunzer arrested one absconder namely Ali Mohd Kawa S/o Mohammad Qasim R/o Kawapora Sumbal A/P Hamdaniya Colony Bemina Srinagar involved in case FIR No. 115/1997 of Police Station Pattan.
Stating that a Police Party of Police Station Boniyar arrested three absconders namely Khursheed Ahmad Bhat S/o Ali Mohammad & Farooq Ahmad Bhat S/o Ali Mohd both R/o Heewan Sheeri & Abdul Majeed Khawaja S/o Habibullah Khawaja R/o Bimyar Boniyar involved in case FIR No.’s 52/2008 & 11/2009 of Police Station Boniyar respectively, the Police in its statement said that the warrant of arrest was issued by the Court of Sub Judge JMIC Tangmarg & Boniyar against them, adding therein that the said accused were evading their arrests since 1988, 1997 and 2009 respectively and all of them were produced before the Court of JMIC Tangmarg & Boniyar.
Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement said that it undertakes rigorous measures to ensure that all individuals absconding their arrests are apprehended and held accountable for their criminal actions.
