Reflecting on my eleven years of association with ITM University Gwalior, I am grateful. Every stage of the journey, from my modest beginnings as an Assistant Professor to my current position as a vital organisation member, has been adorned with priceless teachings. My initial duties were simple: I taught a few classes, counseled students, and helped with events. Even though my job was simple initially, I gave every assignment my attention and energy. It was more about the chance to grow, learn, and contribute meaningfully than the paycheck. I struggled with worries about becoming accepted by students and coworkers outside of my Kashmir valley and assimilating into university culture. But these concerns quickly vanished when I found a kind and encouraging atmosphere. The friendships between faculty and students gave me a solid devotion to the institution and a sense of belonging that helped me advance. I’ve encountered numerous difficulties. The obstacles have tested my strength and patience. In 2016–17, my health deteriorated to the point where my bilirubin levels hit 37—in 2014 and 2016, I lost my precious Aunt and Uncle. In 2018 and 2022, respectively, I lost my beloved father and father-in-law. During the coronavirus crisis in Gwalior, my wife and daughter suffered severely due to health complications. However, there is a supreme force above that looks after everything and rewards you for overcoming every obstacle you encounter. I am fortunate to find a constant support in the University. My mentors, colleagues and students at ITM University kept me going despite the obstacles. I have fewer words to appreciate the constant support of the esteemed Management. Their support made possible opportunities for advancement, such as early promotions, recognition, and professional development programs. I am grateful for the opportunity to supervise three PhD scholars who have completed their PhD program in Management. Completing two Faculty Development Programs, one from the renowned IIM Ahmedabad and the other from the Manipal University has been a significant turning point in my professional career. Along with improving my abilities, these experiences also gave me access to new networks and opportunities. I appreciate ITM University for giving me the chance and means to pursue such rewarding opportunities. Getting the IIMA Alumnus designation has been a dream come true. Furthermore, I recently accomplished the noteworthy feat of having an IIMA-approved case proposal.

I have deep regards and express my gratitude for the wisdom and teachings of distinguished personalities: Hon’ble Founder Chancellor of ITM University-Shri Ramshankar Singh Ji, Revered Chancellor of ITM University Gwalior- Smt. Ruchi Singh Chauhan Ji, Revered Academician and former Director of IIM Indore, Professor N.Ravichandran Ji. We are very blessed if we have true mentors who encourage us to keep moving forward. Management Guru Prof. Yogesh Upadhyay, my inspiration, the distinguished Vice Chancellor of ITM University Gwalior, and my PhD supervisor and mentor, is one person who has been instrumental in my career. His friendship, support, and mentoring extensively influenced my work and personal development. Words cannot adequately reflect the gratitude I owe him. Likewise, I owe a debt of gratitude to my inspiration, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Dr Daulat Singh, whose precious guidance and proper care have constantly motivated me. He has always treated me like a valued member of the ITM Universe family rather than merely as an employee. His honesty and kindness, especially at trying times, have always been ingrained in me. In addition, I am grateful to Registrar Dr. Omveer Singh, Prof. Ranjeet Singh Tomar, Prof. Vandana Bharti, Prof. Keshav Kansana, Prof. Somen Mitra and other respected personalities in ITM University Gwalior for their contributions to my professional development. I also hold former Vice-Chancellors Prof. Kamal Kant Dwivedi, Prof. S.S. Bhakar, and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. S. K. Narayan Khedkar in high regard. Their guidance, inspiration, and assistance have been invaluable to me on this path. If our fear takes over, we will go nowhere in life. My motto is straightforward: I am trying to conquer obstacles with love and arduous effort, and not developing any fear of losing anything. I have made numerous efforts that put my work before my family and health, but I do not regret them. Instead, trust God is All-Powerful and will reward us for our good intentions. I am constantly reminded of the transformational potential of commitment and tenacity. Even though I may have had little success, I’m determined to keep improving. It is said that striving for excellence is a journey rather than a destination. I am too small to suggest anyone, but all good I can tell is to work hard as well as smartly, develop patience and believe in the supremacy of Allah.
