Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has registered 30 cases and arrested 51 accused for being involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals during the first two months of 2024 besides which 51 vehicles used in illegal transport of minerals including 19 Tippers, 31 Tractors and an excavator were also seized from different areas of the district Baramulla this year.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Baramulla Police along with the Mineral Department realised fine in lacs for illegal extraction/transportation of minerals in the district.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that it has remained committed to take action against violators who are taking undue advantage of night hours by extracting minerals illegally to the detriment of people health, the ecology and the revenue of the government. Police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding illegal mineral-related activities in their neighbourhood.
