Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that an illegal property of a drug peddler has been attached by it in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said thatb Police in Baramulla attached property (Single storied residential house worth approx. ₹15 lacs) belonging to a drug peddler identified as Afroza Begum @ Affri wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar R/O Ganie Hamam at present Trumgund Hygam Sopore, District Baramulla, adding therein that the action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR No. 238/2023 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Baramulla.
Stating that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police, revealing therein that property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler, the Police in it’s above quoted statement further said that this operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace
