Awantipora: An awareness programme sponsored by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) on “Food Safety Culture for Better Health and Better Tomorrow” and “Processing of Potato chips making” was organized by Department of Food Technology in collaboration with SKAUST-K.
The inaugural was attended by Dean Academic Affairs IUST, Prof A H Moon, Registrar, Dr Waseem Bari, Dean SoET, Dr Ruman Bashir, Dr Imtiyaz Zargar, faculty, scholars and students. Dr. Tariq Ahmad Ganai (Head Department of Food Technology, Islamic University of Science and Technology) coordinated the program. The program was aimed to foster a culture of food safety consciousness among participants, emphasizing its critical role in ensuring better health outcomes and a promising tomorrow. Through interactive sessions and expert discourses, participants were introduced to knowledge, skills and potential for entrepreneurship in the food sector while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.
