Drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’la: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has booked most wanted and notorious drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla after obtaining formal detention orders from competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police headquarters Srinagar Police said that the most wanted and notorious drug smuggler identified as Irshad Ahmad Ganie S/o Ab Jabbar Ganie R/o Solinda Tangmarg, Baramulla has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority, adding therein that the booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Stating that many cases were registered against the said drug smuggler and was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Solinda, Khaipora, Tangmarg and other areas of the district, Police in it’s statement further said that despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend hid activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have appreciated its role against drug peddlers.
