DC B’pora visits Business Unit of Shaheena Begum, Commends Entrepreneurial Spirit of Women Folk

Bandipora: In a gesture of support and admiration for local entrepreneurship, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, ShakeelulRehman Rather on Wednesday visited the business unit of Shaheena Begum, a 35-year-old dynamic entrepreneur and educated Self Help Group (SHG) member of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) from Sonerwani Bandipora.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by ACD BandiporaMumtaz Peer, BPM NRLM and other concerned.
Shaheena Begum is a shining example of determination and business acumen, successfully managing multiple ventures with an estimated cost of 10.50 lakhs. Her ventures include a rice mill, flour mill, masala mill, oil expeller, beekeeping, and poultry farming, showcasing a diverse and sustainable business model.
During the visit, the DC praised Shaheena Begum for her outstanding achievements and entrepreneurial spirit. He assured her of continued support from the district administration to further enhance her ventures and contribute to the local economy.
Shaheena Begum expressed her gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and vowed to continue her efforts to expand her businesses and create more employment opportunities in the region.
Pertinent to mention here that, Shaheena Begum on Tuesday shared her inspiring journey of benefiting from NRLM SHGs with PM during a two way virtual interaction.
While interacting with the Prime Minister, Shaheena highlighted her journey from poverty to a LakhpatiDidi.
During the interaction program, the Prime Minister appreciated the hard work and determination of the Shaheena and also congratulated her for successful entrepreneurship taking advantage of government schemes.
