Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two suspects for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, in Baramulla district and also seized two vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO Police Station Tangmarg and Police Station Kunzer seized two vehicles and arrested two drivers identified as Mehraj-ud-din Beigh S/o Mohammad Shafi R/o Bichipira & Irshad Ahmad Malik S/o Ali Mohd R/o Pariswani involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Tangmarg and Pinjoora Kunzer Baramulla.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations besides initiating further investigations, Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
