Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party headed by SHO Police Station Kreeri at a checkpoint established at Tapper Bala Kreeri intercepted a vehicle truck bearing registration number JK05L-3267 with the two persons on board identified as Aqib Ahmad Dar S/o Ab Karim & Tanveer Ahmad Malla S/o Mohd Ramzan both residents of Mahrajpora Sopore and during search 432 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus and 5 syrups of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and shifted to Police Station Kreeri where they remain in custody and the vehicle used in the commission of crime were arrested and a case under relevant sections of law was also registered at Police Station Kreeri besides which investigation into the case was also initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and also reassured people to act tough against the criminals as per law.
