Baramulla: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested four drivers drivers and also seized equal no of vehicles for being used in illegal extraction and transportation of mineral in Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said thata Police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla and SDPO Tangmarg, assisted by SHO Police Station Kunzer and InCharge Police Post Delina seized four vehicles and also arrested four drivers after finding them involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Juhama and Darpora Knzer areas of Baramulla district.
Stating that the accused drivers identified as Fayaz Ahmad Sofi S/O Ghulam Mohi Ud Din, Parvaiz Ahmad Sofi S/O Abdul Rehman both residents of Juhama Baramulla, Tariq Ahmad Bhat S/O Bashir Ahmad R/O Devpora and Waseem Ahmad Reshi S/O Ab Ahad R/O Pariswan were arrested , Police in it’s statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations besides which further investigation have been also taken up.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
