DDC Kupwara Chairs Meeting on Scientific Mining Plan Approval

Kupwara: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, led a meeting of the Mining Plan Approval Committee, focusing on the implementation of scientific mining patterns.
In the meeting, an in-depth discussion took place concerning mining operations and their adherence to scientific protocols. The DDC instructed the officers from the Geology and Mining department and other relevant departments to conduct on-site inspections for ground verification and authentication before any resizing or reduction in the area of Minor Mineral Block No. 2 (Shedipora – Rukhmachwari Bakhihakar to Kachwara Talri- Nallah).
Additionally, the DDC emphasized the inclusion of all line departments in the decision-making process and directed the Geology and Mining department to collaborate effectively with them.
Addressing the gathering, the DC stressed the importance of ensuring that mineral extraction follows established guidelines without disrupting the ecological balance. She urged the concerned officers to take strict action against offenders, including filing FIRs against habitual violators. The meeting was attended by Joint Director, Geology and Mining, Kashmir, Khawaja Nisar, EXen Irrigation & Flood Control from Kupwara, EXen from I & FC Handwara, along with other concerned officers and officials.
