10 persons held for transportation of illegal mining in Kulgam, B’la, 10 vehicles also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested 10 accused for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, in Kulgam and Baramulla district here and also seized as many vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party led by D y SP Hqrs Kulgam along with SHO Police Station Kulgam, during patrolling at Matalhama Kulgam, arrested five persons identified as Shabir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Ghulam Mohi ud din Sheikh R/o Sumarbugh, Lasjan, Sameer Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Muhammad Dar R/o Zanipora, Pampora, Fayaz Ahmad Reshi S/o Nazir Ahmad Reshi, Bilal Ahmad Dar S/o GhulamNabi Dar and Javid Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Sultan Dar, all residents of Lethpora, Pulwama and alsi seized five vehicles (Dumpers) for being used in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from their possession.
Police in its statement said that in a similar action in Baramulla, Police parties under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla and SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO Police Station Tangmarg and IC Police Post Delina seized five vehicles (2 Tippers & 3 Tractors) and arrested their drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrai Tangmarg and Delina Ghat, Baramulla, adding therein that the accused drivers were identified as Bilal Ahmad Mir S/o Ali Mohd R/o Bumkul Kunzer, Riaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Ahmad R/o Atipora, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Mohd, Danish Hassan Khan S/o Ghulam Hassan and Arfat Ahmad Malik S/o Ali Mohd, all residents of Delina Ghat Baramulla.
Stating that the police has registered cases under relevant sections of law at respective police stations besides which further investigation has has been also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any nallah as it is the violation of Government rules, warning therein that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
