New Delhi: Student leader and National Convenor of J&K Students Association, Nasir Khuehami, called on AICC Minority Department Chairman and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Imran Pratapghari on Tuesday at his residence in New Delhi. Khuehami apprised him of many issues that Kashmiri migrant workers, shawl sellers, and dry fruit vendors are facing in the Lucknow region of Uttar Pradesh.
During the meeting, Khuehami exchanged views on various issues pertaining to J&K students studying across the country. He apprised Pratapghari of various challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmiri students and discussed youth-related programs and policies. They also exchanged views on a range of issues facing the country in contemporary times. Pratapghari assured Khuehami to raise these issues in the house, expressing his full support. The Rajya Sabha MP informed Khuehami that he would take up the matter and draw the attention of those who are at the helm of affairs in Uttar Pradesh. He expressed hope that they would be addressed on merit and assured that he would put their demands before the Uttar Pradesh government for an early and fruitful solution.
Speaking after the meeting, Khuehami said, “Our exchange of ideas was constructive. Living in a multi-party parliamentary and participatory democracy, differences of opinions and diversity are natural. We thank Imran Sahab for prioritizing our concerns, even though we disagree with his politics at times.” Pratapghari appreciated Khuehami’s efforts for the welfare of students, especially during unprecedented times. He commended Khuehami for taking youth-centric initiatives and engagement programs across the country. He urged him to continue projecting issues related to youth welfare and the minor development of Jammu & Kashmir.
