Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO Police Station Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Chellan Boniyar intercepted one suspicious person identified as Bashir Ahmad Rather S/o Gh Hassan R/o Bimyar Boniyar and during search recovered 30 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action a police party led by Incharge Police Post Mirgund at a checkpoint established at Harthrat Pattan intercepted one person identified as Firdous Ahmad Teli @Bhai S/o Ali Mohammad R/o Khore Sherabad Pattan and during search recovered 105 grams of Charas Powder like substance from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at respective police station besides which further investigation was also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and also reiterated that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
