Srinagar: Security forces on Wednesday arrested a militant associate of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered incriminating material, arms and ammunition from his possession in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said on a specific input of militant movement in the Kreeri area, a joint check point was established at Shrakwara Kreeri near Bus Stand by Baramulla Police & Army 52 RR.
During checking suspicious movement of one person coming towards the check point by foot was observed who on seeing security forces tried to flee from the spot but alert forces apprehended him tactfully. During preliminary questioning, he was identified as Imran Ahmad Ganie resident of Nowpora Wagoora Kreeri. During his search 1 Chinese Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine, 9 Pistol Rounds & 1 Mobile Phone was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case under sections UA (P) & Arms Act has been registered in PS Kreeri and investigation has been taken up.
