Drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in B’gam

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has booked a notorious drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Budgam.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a drug smuggler namely Ashfaq Rehman Khan R/o Sheikhpora Budgam has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Police in it’s statement further said that many a cases were registered against the said drug smuggler in view of his involvement in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of district Budgam.
Police in it’s statement further said that 14 drug peddlers have been booked under the PIT NDPS Act during the current year in Budgam district., adding therein that 77 cases related to the NDPS Act have been also registered and 127 persons arrested during the current year. In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have appreciated it’s role against the drug peddlers.
