Drug peddler arrested in Sopore, contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by Incharge Police Post Watergam at a checkpoint established at Hib Dangerpora Rafiabad intercepted a suspicious person identified as Muneeb Ahmad Dar S/o Abdul Jabar Dar R/o Muqam Shaheed Mir Bomai and during search, recovered210 grams of charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was immediately arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case vide FIR No.94/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha investigation into the case was also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society.
