Much awaited PHC Gundipora dedicated to public in Beerwah, B’gam

Budgam: The much awaited Public Health Centre (PHC), at Gundipora in Beerwah Sub-Division was on Thursday dedicated to the general public.
The project was inaugurated by Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Nazir Ahmad Khan and Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo.
On the occasion, DDC Chairperson and DC Budgam inspected various wards including OPD, Gynae, Ayush, Dental section, NCD lab facility, Jan Ashudhi pharmacy, immunization ward and other facilities available at the two story PHC building.
The facility will cater health services to as many as 15000 people in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairman appreciated that the projects which were long pending for years have been completed in a mission mode in the last few months.
He said that the functioning of PHC would enhance the healthcare facilities in the area and people will be largely benefitted.
He said that both District Council and District Administration were working in a coordinated manner to ensure smooth infrastructural development in all areas of Budgam.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC Budgam expressed his happiness over dedicating the PHC to the general public and ensuring better healthcare facilities in the area.
He said that the PHC Gundipora is fourth in line as three PHCs at Kanir, Pahroo and Mazhama were also dedicated to the general public in the recent past.
DC said that under the direction of Hon’ble LG, the District Administration is committed to ensure all major infrastructural projects are completed in the shortest possible time.
He said among other major projects, work on PRIs Accommodation at Sheikhpora, Integrated Lavatory, Wuzukhana complex along with two public Parks at Charar-i-Sharief have been completed, work on New Bus Terminal is in progress and likely to be completed by first half of the next year, work on State of the Art New District Hospital Budgam at Reshipora and installation of Mobile Network towers at various uncovered areas is a key focus area of the district administration.
He said that similarly projects in Beerwah areas including renovation and upgradation of Baba Hanief-U-Din Reshi Shrine, Rathsun which was damaged was also carried out and pristine glory of the Shrine was restored, besides access infrastructure for Bhairava Cave, Beerwah of Abhinav Gupt ji was developed, which has promoted tourist footfall to Beerwah but also opened livelihood opportunities for the local youth.
The DC said that the District Administration shall make sure to complete all other ongoing infrastructure projects in the shortest possible time.
Among others, CPO, SDM Beerwah, CMO, Tehsildar, BMO and other officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
