Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that if 140 crore citizens resolve to take the country forward, India will surely become a developed country by 2047.
While addressing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme here in Varanasi, the PM said, “To make a developed India, every citizen should make his mood, mind and resolve and once the mind is made up then the destination is not far away.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other ministers were present on the occasion.

He said, “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is the work of the country. It is not the work of any political party and whosoever is doing this he is doing a pious work. Those who are sitting on the fence should realise that they are missing their chance.”

Modi said that several governments came, numerous schemes were formulated and a lot of things were said. “The crux of what I felt is that the most important work on which maximum concentration should be laid is that the schemes should reach the people for whom they have been formulated, achieve the purpose for which it is formulated and should reach the beneficiary at the right time without any hassle,” he said.
He said, “If there is a Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna there then permanent houses of those living in huts and kutcha houses should be constructed. And for this they should not take the round of the government, instead the government should step forward and work.”
The PM said that since the public has assigned the work to him around 4 crore families have got permanent houses. “Still at times reports are received that some person somewhere has been left out. Therefore we decided to move around the country and take feedback about the government schemes for the beneficiaries, what they got, how they received it and whether they faced any problem in getting it,” he said.
He said, “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is my examination. I wanted to hear from you whether the work has been done in accordance with the expectation, whether it has been done for the person for which it was intended and whether the work which was supposed to be done has been accomplished or not.”
Modi said that during interaction with some beneficiaries, he met some people who got serious ailments treated with the help of Ayushman card. “I get blessings for all this, but the government employee and officers, who formulate the scheme on the files and even devolve the funds, feel satisfied when he hears that people are getting benefits. His enthusiasm to work increases many fold,” he said.

He said that therefore wherever this Sankalp Yatra has been done so far it has created a positive impact on the government employees and officers as they feel satisfied. “There are very less people who realise the power of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,” he said.
Modi said, “Some say what difference does the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra make? But one of my sisters said that it has ended the difference between the poor and the rich. When a poor person says that the difference between the poor and rich has ended after having a cooking gas it means a lot.”
He said, “I want that every person should feel that the railways, hospital, office is mine and above all this country is mine. And when this sense develops the feeling to do something for the country also increases. When the people get the information about the government schemes they feel that this is their right. And when 140 crore people realise that this is the right time the country is all set to move ahead.”

The PM said that the Yatra is a big dream and resolve which we have to fulfill with our efforts. “The seed which is being sown today will turn into such a ‘Vatvriksha’ that the country will become developed India by 2047 and our children will start getting its fruit,” he said.
Earlier, the PM visited an exhibition organised on various schemes of the government and interacted with the beneficiaries. UNI
