Awantipora : The Two-day Induction Cum Orientation Program for nursing students concluded on Wednesday at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST). The programme organized by Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology, was aimed to acquaint students with nursing education at IUST and fostering a comprehensive understanding of the profession.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office IUST here, the event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and the administration of the nursing oath to the trainee nurses. Prof. Ayaz Hassan Moon, Dean Academic Affairs, IUST said that nursing is caring and despite advances in technology human nurses are irreplaceable. He said that nursing involves emotions and stressed leveraging technology for efficient outcomes. Prof. Naseer Iqbal Registrar, IUST in his address commended the role of nurses emphasizing their significant contributions to preventive, curative, and restorative healthcare.
The program was coordinated by Ms. Asmat Parveen (Principal, Nursing College) who briefed the participants about the programme details while stressing the nursing profession’s critical role towards society and IUST’s commitment in fostering excellence in nursing education.
