Police organises drug awareness seminar in G’bal

Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal under the Civic Action Program on Friday organised drug awareness Seminar/Programme at Sainik School Manasbal. The seminar/programme was organised on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, on this occasion, doctors, teachers, students & other dignitaries participated with huge enthusiasm & zest in the seminar which was organised under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Gh Hassan.
While speaking on the onset of the seminar, DySP Hqrs Ganderbal delivered inaugural lecture in which he touched various aspects of drug addiction & its causes. He encouraged the participants to refrain from this severe menace & stated that Police is always on toes to eradicate drug menace from the society & ready to help the youth in fighting this serious issue.
Moreover, Miss Sobiya Shabir (Social Worker Special Cell for Women PS Kheerbawani) started the proceedings of the program & students delivered lectures about the catastrophic causes & consequences of drugs. The guest speakers including Doctors present in the Seminar also appraised the audience with psychological & social aspects of drug addiction. They talked about Socio-economic, Physiological and Psychological causes & its preventive measures. The teachers & other dignitaries also thrown light on this sensitive issue & audience present in the seminar were encouraged to adopt positive approaches in eliminating drug abuse from the society.
At the end, question & answer session was held in which students put forth various queries & questions regarding the menace of drugs addiction. The experts from health & other departments answered them logically & motivated the audience how to curb this burning issue in order to save future generations. At the conclusion of the Seminar, Principal Sainik School Manasbal Ghulam Hassan Nath presented vote of thanks.
