Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Palhallan headed by IC PP Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan at a checkpoint established at Ghat Palhallan intercepted two persons identified as Ali Mohammad Pandith S/o Mohammad Ismail R/o Trikolbal Pattan & Mohammad Rafiq Ahanger S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o Mureedoora Hawal Srinagar who were travelling on Pulsar bike bearing registration number JK01R-8327 and during search, 1.320 Kgs of Charas Powder was recovered from their possession. Besides, the accused have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Pattan where they remain in custody.
Stating that the police have accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reassured them to act tough against the criminals as per law.
