DC Reasi reviews achievements of RDD

Emphasis laid on community works, their timely completion

Reasi: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, VisheshMahajanon Wednesday convened a meeting of the Rural Development Department (RDD) officers to take stock of physical and financial progress achieved in the execution of different works under the Capex Budget.
During the course of the meeting, the ACD apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the targets besides the physical and financial achievements registered so far under Capex Budget, SDP, NRLM, MGNREGA and IWMP.
The DC directed the officers to work in tandem and close coordination with the public representatives, PRI members and villagers so as to ensure effective implementation of the welfare schemes on ground for benefit of the general population. He also stressed on creation of durable assets while strictly adhering to quality parameters.
The District Commissioner emphasised on geo tagging of all assets and regular monitoring of works for quality and time bound completion. He underlined the importance of establishing Community Sanitary Complexes (CSCs) at places of public importance like educational institutions, tourist destinations and other far off locations throughout the district.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that issues and bottlenecks with regard to developmental works should be resolved on priority so that deserving people can avail maximum benefits of the developmental works and welfare schemes. He also urged the concerned officers to adopt an empathetic and humane approach while dealing with public issues, adding he said that the RDD personnel have a greater responsibility to address people’s issues as they work at the grassroots level.
The Deputy Commissioner was also apprised about the status of AmritSarovars, Shilaphalkams and MGNREGA assets. He directed that all assets should be properly utilised and also maintained.
During the meeting he also reviewed the SBM Grameen progress and emphasised on ensuring the ODF Model plus status of the district sustainable. He asked the ACP to work out a mechanism whereby the plastic waste collected is processed and sold to end users to make waste economically beneficial for the locals. He also emphasised on ensuring a strong mechanism for door to door collection of garbage and optimum utilisation of the assets created under SBM.
The Deputy Commissioner also assessed the preparation for the forthcoming Back to Village 5 programme in the district and issued instructions for its successful conduct.
Detailed presentations were made by DrAnirudh ACD and Pardeep Kumar ACP during the meeting. The meeting was attended by ADDC, CPO, all BDOs and Engineers.
