Nanda visits Aghar Jitto areas, listens to people’s issues

Reasi: Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda Wednesday toured   Aghar Jitto, Hut and Ranga areas to take stock of issues of general public.

On the demand of locals, the Minister sanctioned 63-KVA transformer worth Rs 4.13 lakh from his CDF for Hut Ranga.

A team of district administration functionaries also accompanied the minister.

The locals sought works under MGNREGA, restoration of foot paths, construction of ponds, fresh BPL survey to include left out families, augmentation of water and power infrastructure and clearance of pending old age pension cases. They also stressed on the need for creating mass awareness about government schemes by holding camps by social welfare, horticulture, agriculture and other departments.

The Minister listened to the grievances of the people patiently and in many cases issued on the spot directions for immediate redress. He directed the officers to look into the problems flagged by people sympathetically and work out their time bound solution.

The Minister stressed upon district administration to take more initiatives for empowering women and marginalized sections apart from holding sanitation drives and organizing mass awareness progra

The Minister said the Government has laid main thrust on improving living condition of people of rural areas by providing them all basic facilities at par with urban areas. He also listed numerous development projects sanctioned for the overall development of Katra and Reasi.

The Minster further informed that the Government is also improving the education and health facilities in far flung areas by augmenting existing infrastructure and other requisite facilities.

Later, the Minister laid foundation of lanes and drains in ward No 2 and 3 of Katra town.

The Minister was accompanied by ACD M.Y. Malik, XEN PDD Thakur Dass Attri, XEN PWD and various other officers of different departments.
