Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Tangmarg headed by SHO Police Station Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Hardu Ichloo intercepted one person identified as Gh Mohd Bhat S/o Gh Mohi-ud-Din Bhat R/o Khaminderpora Tangmarg, adding therein that during search, 55 grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the said accuse who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that the police has later accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Tangmarg and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and assured them to act tough against the criminals as per law.
