Srinagar: Police on Monday said that a hit and run case was on Monday solved by it in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district by arresting the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 22nd Septemver an unknown Truck hit a Maruti Eeco car bearing registration No. JK06B-0901 near walnut factory in Qazigund and fled from the spot, adding therein that in this accident, the driver of Maruti Eeco vehicle and six passengers were critically injured and thereafter they were immediately shifted to Emergency Hospital Qazigund for treatment from where they were referred to GMC Anantnag for further treatment.
Stating that among the injured four persons succumbed to their injuries, Police in it’s statement further said a case vide FIR No. 206/2023 was registered under relevant sections of law atPolice Station Qazigund besides which investigation was accordingly initiated to track down the accused.
Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, the team led by SHO Police Station Qazigund under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam relentlessly made all efforts and collected evidences from CCTV, Toll Plazas, Telecom and other useful applications/services to identify the accused following which the accused driver identified as Aarif Ahmad Ellahi S/o Ghulam Rasool Ellahi R/o Nowgam Verinag, Anantnag involved in the commission of crime was arrested and the truck bearing registration number JK22-7103 was also seized.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that people of area have lauded the efforts of police for cracking/solving the case in the shortest possible of time.
