GDC Chatroo hosts Inspiring Lecture on “Earning while Learning” in Commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti

Chatroo(Kishtwar), Sept,21: In celebration of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Government Degree College Chatroo organized a thought-provoking lecture on the theme of “Earning while Learning”. The event was targeted to highlight the significance of Gandhian principles in education and self-sufficiency. The lecture, was presided over by Dr. Ved Kumar, the Principal of
Government Degree College Chatroo and the speaker for the event was Dr. Haqnawaz Ahmed, whose insightful presentation left a lasting impact on the attendees. Dr. Haqnawaz Ahmed, in his enlightening lecture, emphasized the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi on “Learning while Learning”. He eloquently conveyed that Gandhi’s initiatives such as the Khadi Movement and the Salt March were not merely political endeavors but crucial steps toward self sufficiency and economic independence. Dr. Ahmed passionately urged the students to integrate these profound lessons into their educational journeys by concurrently pursuing skill development courses, allowing them to “earn while learn”. Furthermore, Dr. Ved Kumar, in his concluding remarks, commended Dr. Haqnawaz Ahmed for his
informative and inspirational lecture. He called upon the students to become torchbearers of Gandhi’s message and principles in their communities and beyond. Dr. Kumar stressed the importance of holistic education that includes both academic pursuits and practical skills to foster self-reliance. The event, which among students was graced by faculty members that include Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Prof. Chander Parkash, Dr. J.V. Manhas, Prof. Waseem Rasheed, Dr. Jaswant Singh, Dr. Muddasser Nazar, Dr. Inam and Muddasser Butt served as a meaningful tribute to the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. It underscored the enduring relevance of his ideas and the importance of instilling them in the younger generation. The proceedings of the event were carried out by Dr. Muddasser Nazar in a coherent way.
