Kishtwar: Under the ongoing Digital Week Celebration in the district, the District Administration Kishtwar, in addition to awareness generation about digital services of Government, on Wednesday took significant strides in leveraging technology to strengthen and expand access of health and education to remote areas and facilitate the redress the public grievances and needs.
In a groundbreaking move, the District Education Department Kishtwar unveiled a Smart Class Studio at the Digital Week Celebration. Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav along with CEO Prehlad Bhagat graced the occasion.
The aim is to provide quality education to students in far-flung areas of the district. Many government schools from 9th to 12th grade, which face a shortage of qualified staff in subjects like Science and Mathematics, will benefit from this initiative.
Master Sandeep Kumar delivered a mathematics lecture from the newly established studio at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar. Over 1000 students of 50 schools accessed the lecture through smart boards and internet facilities, fostering interactive learning at their respective schools.
These digital classes will now be a regular feature, with well-qualified teachers and lecturers from premier schools delivering lessons through digital mediums and students utilising access through smart boards and projectors available in these schools, coupled with internet connectivity to fill educational gaps due to unavailability of qualified Staff.
The health sector also embraced digital medium by conducting a special tele-consultation session for ailing individuals in the remote areas of Kuntwara, Bounjwah, Nagseni and other areas of the district Kishtwar.
The Medicos Dr Ferooz and Dr Munaza, provided reliable medical consultations through video conferencing from the DC office complex. Dr. M.Y. Mir, Chief Medical Officer supervised the session, generating e-prescriptions and offering necessary consultations with the help of AYUSH doctors, technical teams, and medical assistants present at sub-centers in these areas.
It is noteworthy that the tele-consultation initiative, launched a few months ago by Deputy Commissioner, in collaboration with the Health Department, has become a regular feature in the district. Hundreds of patients in Kuntwara and Bounjwah have already benefited from specialist consultations through this digital platform, bridging healthcare gaps in remote areas.
Besides this, in wake of the Digital Week celebration, the line Hours under “Hello Kishtwar” IVRS have been extended, wherein the district officers listened to people’s grievances through the IVRS number, 8479800900. From August 31st to September 6th,the Hello Kishtwar IVRS grievance registration line will be accessible every day, extending beyond the usual schedule. From 11 AM to 12 Noon, citizens can conveniently register grievances and queries online.
This extended availability is a testament to the commitment of District Administration Kishtwar to foster digital accessibility and ensure that the concerns of people are addressed promptly. The District administration encourages everyone to take advantage of this opportunity during the Digital Week Celebration. It empowers individuals who lack the resources to visit government offices daily, while also enhancing transparency and accountability.
These landmark initiatives, which are characteristics of District Administration, are being highlighted during the week-long celebration of Digital India. The aim is to increase awareness about the overarching goal of promoting digital India among the local populace besides demonstrating a commitment to harnessing technology for the benefit of common citizens.
