PDF Chief demands Priority on Opening of Degree college Khag, Work on Sukhnag Shali Ganga power projects as top priorities

Budgam : Saying that the package of developmental initiatives unveiled by LG Manoj Sinha for district Budgam ,was a welcome step ,Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Friday remarked that some vital areas were seen missing in it.
In a statement issued from party headquarters here, significant areas of Budgam district especially Khansahib, Khag and Chrari sharief , which remained hitherto neglected on account of development , have again been overlooked by the LG administration, Hakeem remarked while responding to the bunch of developmental initiatives announced by L G Manoj Sinha yesterday at a function in Raj Bhawan . He stressed for an inclusive infrastructure developmental strategy, otherwise the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Sabka Saath – Sabka vikas -Sabka Vishwas cannot be fructified and will remain a distinct dream .
The PDF Chairman said that opening of a Degree college at khag town – an educationally most backward area , remains the long pending demand of the local people, which has not been mentioned in the wish list for District Budgam, unveiled by the LG administration yesterday. Likewise, people of khag have been craving for opening of a Sub District Hospital (SDH) for getting affordable health care facility – a genuine demand which has not found a place in the much hyped announcement .
” Similarly, execution of work on minihydle power projects at Nalah sukhnag and nalah kishan Ganga was pending for a long , ” Hakeem pointed out while seeking LGs immediate intervention in this matter of great public importance. He said, these two power houses were important for making the khansahib -chrari-sharief areas self sufficient in electricity needs. He also sought personal intervention of L G for starting work on ambitious Yusmarg – Doodhpathri- Tossamaidan – Gulmarg tourist circuit adding that the tourist circuit was primarily imperative for tourism promotion and socio- economic transformation of this backward area. He has also rued poor performance of Yusmarg- Doodhpathri and Tossamaidan Tourism Development Authorities due to paucity of funds and manpower deficiency and has urged the L G administration to make these authorities fully functional.
The PDF Chief has urged the LG administration to take a fresh review of the developmental requirements of various areas of the Budgam district ,at ground level, to formulate a logistic, inclusive and futuristic infrastructure developmental strategy. He has urged the need for repairing of the overall road network and completion of various school and hospital buildings, languishing from last many years in various areas of the district.
