Awantipora: The Centre for AYUSH Sciences, Islamic University of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Directorate of AYUSH, District Pulwama on Thursday organized a free medical screening camp in the university campus. Prof Naseer Iqbal, Registrar IUST in presence of District Nodal Officer AYUSH Pulwama, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Parray, Dr Tabasum Fatima (MD Moalijat) RA IUST and other doctors inaugurated the camp.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office IUST here, the camp was attended by local community members, students, faculty and staff who were screened for different non-communicable diseases and introduced to efficacy of Unani treatment and encouraged for adoption of healthy lifestyle. The clinical evaluation of mizaj (temperament) was also evaluated among patients. On this occasion free medicines were also distributed.
The camp was coordinated by Dr Arsheed Ahmad Ganaie, Coordinator Centre for Ayush Science. Pertinently, IUST has set up an AYUSH dispensary where OPD is held on a daily basis with free distribution of medicines among the patients. The facility has emerged popular among the locals as well as university fraternity.
