Central Prabhari Officer visits Kupwara, reviews progress under ADP, ABP

Officers Emphasized to aim for higher ranks for Kupwara Distt

Kupwara: Central Prabhari Officer of Aspirational District Kupwara, Shantmanu on Tuesday visited Kupwara and took a review under the Aspirational District Programme (ADP) and ABP (Aspirational Block Plan) at the Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan welcomed the Central Prabhari Officer and briefed the chair about the progress and achievements made under the ADP and ABP through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
Speaking on the occasion, Central Prabhari Officer ADP said that the Aspirational District Programme is NITI Ayog’s important programme which is monitored by PMO directly.
He said that ADP has a great impact on the ground level and almost all ADP districts including frontier Kupwara have made remarkable progress on key development parameters as compared to the baseline, and are performing significantly better on Tuesday than they were before the programme was initiated.
Shantmanu said that the basic purpose of the review meeting is to see the areas which need more focus.
DDC apprised the chair that Kupwara district is one of the 117 districts chosen by NITI AYOG in January 2018. Current Delta rank of the district is 12th (overall rank in the country for the Month of May 2023).
She further informed that Delta Rank of the district has improved from previous 37th rank to 12th rank.
DDC further apprised the chair that Composite score of the district has increased from 37.8 in March 2018 to 59.50 in May 2023 besides there is substantial progress in 34 out of 49 indicators.
Ayushi further said that district Kupwara received PM’s Award of Excellence on 21st April 2022. District Kupwara achieved 3rd Delta Rank under Financial Inclusion and Skill Development in May 2010 and received an additional grant of Rs.3 Crore out of which Rs.255 Lakh stands utilized. She said district Kupwara was conferred with Gold Medal by Union Health Minister on 24th March 2022 for achieving more than 60% reduction in TB Notification.
Thereafter, the Central Prabhari officer had a threadbare discussion on each indicator and sub indicator of the 5 thematic sectors and reviewed the performance of the district on each of them.
Central Prabhari Officer also reviewed the Aspirational Block Plan of Block Keran.
The DDC in her concluding remarks said that steps are being taken to bring Kupwara district on tourism map as the district has huge potential in Eco-tourism, border tourism and adventure tourism.
Central Prabhari officer Kupwara impressed upon the officers to improve the parameters and indicators which pertain to them so that benefits of different centrally sponsored schemes trickle down to the doorsteps of deserving. He further stressed on convergence between different departments and programmes for better service delivery.
Later, the Central Prabhari Officer visited the Food Corporation Bumhama Godown and inspected the food Godown. He also visited NTPHC Drugmulla and inspected various sections of the Hospital. On the Occasion he interacted with doctors and patients.
He also paid a visit to the Honey Processing Unit at Gulgam and interacted with the farmers there. On the eve of Jal Jeevan Mission Fortnight, he also inspected the JJM scheme at Gulgam wherein he was briefed about the progress made so far.
The Central Prabhari Officer complimented the efforts of the J&K Administration and District Administration and assured assistance on behalf of the Central Government.
