‘Wild cannabis destroyed in Bla’, Says Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has destroyed wild cannabis spread over vast areas of land at Goriwan & Gawas Sheeri areas of Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that it had received specific inputs about the presence of wild cannabis at Goriwan and Gawas Sheeri areas of Baramulla and accordingly a police party of Police Station Sheeri led by SHO PS Sheeri alongwith BDC Narwav Mir Iqbal, Sarpanch Heewan, Sarpanch Badmulla and respectables of Delina Baramulla under the overall supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmad Khan destroyed wild Cannabis spread on over 10 Kanals of Govt land in these areas, adding therein that people of the areas have also joined the destruction drive of wild cannabis at the said locations and lauded the taken by it.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement policed appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law.
