DDC Kupwara reviews preparation for conduct of JJM Fortnight campaign

Kupwara: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Wednesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the preparations for conduct of ‘Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Fortnight’ campaign in the district.
It was informed in the meeting that the JJM campaign is aimed at building capacities of different stakeholders, especially local communities, to own, manage, operate and maintain water supply systems in villages.
On the occasion, the DDC stressed upon all the concerned officers to ensure utmost coordination for smooth and successful conduct of the JJM campaign across the district. She directed the ACD Kupwara to ensure maximum coordination in conducting Special Gram Sabhas in all Panchayats so that awareness about JJM reaches to the grassroots level.
Reviewing the progress of JJM in the district, the DDC stressed upon the concerned to prioritize the installation of tap water connection in Schools and Anganwadi Centres. The Dy. CEO was asked to share a list of schools which are yet to be connected.
During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held regarding the smooth conduct of JJM IEC campaign in the district.
The DDC took a detailed review of the preparations to be made by the concerned officers which include inspection of JJM works by visiting officers, reporting of 100% FHTC villages, certification of Har Ghar Jal reported villages through Special Gram Sabhas, installation of signages on all water supply schemes, identification of JJM Nodal Person from each village, making Field Testing Kit available in each village and conducting Special Gram Sabhas for discussing JJM.
The meeting also discussed the conduct of debates, painting competitions, rallies, street plays etc. to be held in all the Higher Secondary Schools of the district.
District SE PHE, DPO-ICDS, ACD, DSWO, Dy. CEO, besides, Nodal Officer JJM Kupwara and other concerned attended the meeting.
